What are your suggestions for focus points to the different themes?
Everyday America
Shakespeare and Love
Heroes
Music That Matters

A good way to get good ideas, is to go through the material we have been working with. Re-read some of the Paul Auster stories, think back on Romeo and Juliet, etc.

You thought it was only guitar and harmonica…

April 3, 2008 · No Comments · Bob Dylan, music that matters

Bob Dylan is often seen singing on the stage, with his guitar and harmonica or his keyboard.

But actually, he also plays bass, percussion and the accordion!

Not that I’ve seen him that much, since I’m not very fond of his music and don’t know anybody who is, but I really can’t imagine him standing with one of these…

It’s just too hilarious.

Bob meets Woody

April 3, 2008 · 1 Comment · Bob Dylan, music that matters

There is a myth about Bob Dylan that he came to New York on the back of a freight train. The truth though is that Dylan came in to N.Y. in the back of someone’s car. He came to see his hero Woody Guthrie.
Bob Dylan achieved his dream of meeting Woody that was on a weekend’s release from the hospital. Dylan sang to him “I was a Woody Guthrie jukebox” And later he got a card from Woody saying, “I’m not dead yet”

Bob Dylan Fact

April 3, 2008 · No Comments · Bob Dylan, music that matters

Research has shown that Bob Dylans paternel grandparents, Zigman and Anna Zimmerman, emigrated from Odessa in the Russian Empire (now Ukraine) to the United States after 1905.

Dylan himself claims that his paternel grandmother’s maiden name was Kyrgyz, and her family originated from Istanbul, although she grew up in the Kagizman district of Kars in Eastern Turkey. He also claims that his paternel grandfather was from Trabzon on the Black Sea coast of Turkey.
